Miguel Ángel Ripoll looks back over 16 years at Innovation Strategies
My name is Miguel Angel Ripoll and I am a Project Manager at Innovation Strategies. I currently work in the Data Department where I am part of a team of more than 20 people where we provide solutions focused on the processing and analysis of large amounts of data to clients who need it.
But my story at Innovation Strategies began more than 16 years ago, when I started as an analyst/developer for one of the largest hotel chains in Mallorca. We were like a family, the company at that time had no more than 30 people, so the daily work was very pleasant and in a very friendly atmosphere. Little by little, and year after year, I acquired more and more technical, communication and team management skills, which allowed me to grow within the company, moving up the organisation chart from Senior Analyst/Developer to Project Manager and finally Project Director.
In 2020 I was still working servicing the hotel chain and due to the closure of all hotels worldwide due to the Covid lockout, the client minimised both development and infrastructure. So, after a few weeks in transit where I had to learn the data world from scratch, I was assigned to another team where I was warmly welcomed. I had to learn a lot of new things, but after almost 3 years I feel very satisfied and happy to be part of this great team we have at Data.
Innovation Strategies is my second family, we get along very well both inside and outside of work, we have done countless activities outside of work: excursions, sports (running, climbing), playing MTG, parties, trips, weddings, we share our sorrows and our joys. This has allowed us to create bonds that help us to live together and relate to each other much better. And in turn, this good relationship between us means that we can all bring the best of ourselves to the client.
My personal advice: Always try to give the best of yourselves, learn, improve your soft-skills, help your colleagues as much as you can, be sincere and honest.
